My Father, The Artist

About AP:

AP is a young artist and the main muse of our lead studio artist Kyle Goderwis. Despite her less than ten years of experience, her art has made a continued impact among her peers in the greater Seattle area. When she is not working in the studio, AP enjoys reading fine literature, singing, and dancing.

About Kyle Goderwis:

Former Atlanta based artist, Kyle Goderwis, graduated from The Art Institute of Atlanta in 2004 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In 2006, he was invited to participate in his first gallery show in Atlanta. Since then, he has showcased his work in various galleries in the Southeast. In 2010, Kyle joined a group of working professional artists to further his education in the fine art world. A transplant to Seattle, he has been with Grand Image since 2014 and creates a variety of abstract and expressionist paintings and other mixed media artwork. Subject matter ranges from landscape to abstract with a wide variety of materials and techniques.

Kyle is the current lead artist in residence in THE Studio at Grand Image.

Grand Image: Do you have any favorite projects that your dad has done?

AP: I like the Fluid Forms. Because they’re just scribbles and it seems easy and simple to do, so I could do it.

Grand Image: Please describe your dad in 4 words.

AP: Kind, thoughtful, caring, and artistic!

Grand Image: What 3 colors describe your dad?

AP: White, pink, and yellow. White: because he sees a white space and paints on it. And because he always wears white shirts. Pink: it’s his favorite color and suits him well. Yellow: it’s such a bright and cheery color and it’s my favorite color.

Grand Image: What are your favorite colors right now?

AP: Red, yellow, and purple

Grand Image: Do you like painting with your dad? Why or why not?

AP: Yes, I really like it because it is fun. I want him to teach me to become a better artist.
